I received this hat in the mail in a box that needed to be a tad bit bigger. It was kind of bent in the box so front of it isn't exactly like it should be. When I observed the civil war cavalry western cowboy hat and to me I'm looking at it & it just doesn't look much like the one in the picture on amazon. I expected it to look like this with the details well the tassels are different and there are no vent holes in the side of the hat. So I can't exactly say it matches this hat. However it doesn't look bad. You could certainly use it for dress up, role play or Halloween. The inside of the hat has elastic band so this makes it one size fits all. It fit me, my son and my daughter, but my boyfriend it was tighter on his head. It seems to be well constructed too. This hat my kids will get a lot of use out of playing around the house.
